Liftgate Adjustment

Measure the gap and height difference between the liftgate and the body.
- If the measured value exceeds the standard clearance, adjust the liftgate using the following procedure:
Loosen the liftgate hinge installation bolts and adjust the liftgate.

Standard clearance

a: 5.1-7.1 mm {0.21-0.27 in}

b: -2.0-0.0 mm {-0.078-0.000 in}

c: 2.6-5.0 mm {0.11-0.19 in}

d: -1.9-0.5 mm {-0.07-0.01 in}

e: 4.3-8.3 mm {0.17-0.32 in}
Tighten the liftgate hinge installation bolts. (See LIFTGATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
If the liftgate does not open/close smoothly, adjust it by loosening the liftgate lock striker installation screw. (See LIFTGATE LOCK STRIKER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
Spray or pour water on the door and surrounding area using a hose or high pressure water pressure car wash and verify that there is no water leakage.
