DTC P0507; Pcm IAC System Rpm Higher Than Expected: Notes

DETECTION CONDITION & POSSIBLE CAUSE

DTC P0507:00 IAC system RPM higher than expected
DETECTION CONDITION
  • The actual idle speed is higher than expected by 200 rpm for 14 s, when the brake pedal is depressed (brake switch is on).
    NOTE:
    • If the atmospheric pressure is less than 72.3 kPa {0.737 kgf/cm2 , 10.5 psi} or the intake air temperature is below -10 °C {14 °F}, the PCM cancels the diagnosis of DTC P0507:00.

    Diagnostic support note

  • This is a continuous monitor (CCM).
  • The check engine light illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition in two consecutive drive cycles or in one drive cycle while the DTC for the same malfunction has been stored in the PCM.
  • PENDING CODE is available if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during first drive cycle.
  • FREEZE FRAME DATA (Mode 2)/Snapshot data is available.
  • DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION Not applicable
POSSIBLE CAUSE
  • Vacuum hose not installed correctly
  • Drive-by-wire control system malfunction
    • Throttle valve malfunction (stuck open)
  • Malfunction in injection amount measurement system (refer to DTC P0101:00 )
  • Purge solenoid valve malfunction (stuck open) (in this case, the PCM records DTC P0443:00.)
  • PCM malfunction
