Recliner Motor Inspection

WARNING:
- Handling a front seat equipped with a side air bag improperly can accidentally operate (deploy) the air bag, which may seriously injure you. Read the service warnings/cautions in the workshop service information before handling the front seat (side air bag integrated). - Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
- Move hook A in the order of arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure and detach it from hook B.
- Unzip the zippers.
- Disconnect the recliner motor connector.
- Apply battery positive voltage and connect the ground to recliner motor terminals A and B, and then inspect the recliner motor operation.
- If the recliner motor does not operate as indicated in the table, replace the front seat back frame. (See FRONT SEAT BACK FRAME REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
