Rear Wheel Hub Bolt Replacement

  1. Perform the following procedure for vehicles with the electric parking brake.
    1. Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
    2. Release the electric parking brake.
    3. Switch the ignition off.
    4. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Remove the wheel and tire. (See WHEEL AND TIRE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Disconnect the electric parking brake motor gear unit connector. (With electric parking brake) (See ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE MOTOR GEAR UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  4. Remove the brake caliper component and disc plate. (See WHEEL HUB COMPONENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  5. Remove the wheel hub bolt using the SST as shown in the figure.

  6. Place a new wheel hub bolt in the wheel hub.
  7. Install the wheel hub by placing a proper sized washer on the hub, and tightening the nut as shown in the figure.
