USB Port Inspection: Front

- Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
- Remove the following parts:
- Glove compartment (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Decoration panel (See DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Upper panel (See UPPER PANEL REMOVAL .) (See UPPER PANEL INSTALLATION .)
- Rear console (See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Shift lever knob (MTX) (See MANUAL TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [C66M-R] .)
- Selector lever knob (ATX) (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Shift panel (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Front console box (See FRONT CONSOLE BOX REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Side wall (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Front console (See FRONT CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Auxiliary jack/USB port (See AUXILIARY JACK/USB PORT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Insert the pins to positions UA', UB', UC', and UD' shown in the figure from the side of the USB device insertion area for the auxiliary jack/USB port, and verify the continuity at the insertion side and terminal side of the USB device.
- Verify that the continuity at the insertion side and terminal side of the USB device is as indicated in the table.NOTE:
- When inspecting the USB device insertion side, touch it with a paper clip or similar thin pin without directly inserting a tester into the terminals.
- If not as indicated in the table, replace the auxiliary jack/USB port.
