Without Electric Parking Brake: MTX

Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
Remove the upper panel. (See UPPER PANEL REMOVAL .) (See UPPER PANEL INSTALLATION .)
Remove the shift lever knob. (See MANUAL TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [C66M-R] .)
Move the shift panel in the order of the arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure, and remove the clips A.

To prevent scratches or damage, affix protective tape to the position shown in the figure of the front console.

Insert the remover tool in the order of the arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure, and detach the tabs of the shift panel from the front console.

Insert the remover tool in the order of the arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure, and detach the clip A and clip B of the shift panel from the front console.

Move the shift panel in the order of arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure, and remove it while detaching the shift panel tabs from the front console.

Install in the reverse order of removal.
