Without Electric Parking Brake: ATX

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Remove the upper panel. (See UPPER PANEL REMOVAL .) (See UPPER PANEL INSTALLATION .)
  3. Remove the selector lever knob. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  4. Disconnect the connector.

  5. Move the shift panel in the order of the arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure, and remove the clips A.

  6. To prevent scratches or damage, affix protective tape to the position shown in the figure of the front console.

  7. Insert the remover tool in the order of the arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure, and detach the shift panel tabs from the front console.

  8. Insert the remover tool in the order of the arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure, and detach the clip A and clip B of the shift panel from the front console.

  9. Move the shift panel in the order of the arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure, and remove it while detaching the shift panel tabs from the front console.

  10. Install in the reverse order of removal.
