Rear Parking Brake Cable Removal/Installation: Notes

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .)
  2. Remove the wheel and tire. (See WHEEL AND TIRE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Remove the upper panel. (See UPPER PANEL REMOVAL .) (See UPPER PANEL INSTALLATION .)
  4. Loosen the adjusting nut.
  5. Remove the rear parking brake cable from the front parking brake cable. (See FRONT PARKING BRAKE CABLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  6. Remove the floor under cover No. 1. (See FLOOR UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  7. Remove the insulator (middle) installation nuts and the fasteners. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .)
  8. Set the insulator out of the way.
  9. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
  10. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  11. After installation, inspect the parking brake lever stroke. (See PARKING BRAKE LEVER INSPECTION .)
