DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

- B1197:11: Passenger-side side air bag sensor circuit short to body ground
- B1197:13: Passenger-side side air bag sensor circuit open circuit or short to power supply
- B1197:87: Signal reception error from passenger-side side air bag sensor
- B1197:96: Passenger-side side air bag sensor internal malfunction

| Possible cause |
- Passenger-side side air bag sensor connector malfunction
- Open circuit in the wiring harness between the following terminals:
- SAS control module terminal 1J-passenger-side side air bag sensor terminal A
- SAS control module terminal 1L-passenger-side side air bag sensor terminal B
- Short circuit to body ground in the wiring harness between the following terminals:
- SAS control module terminal 1J-passenger-side side air bag sensor terminal A
- SAS control module terminal 1L-passenger-side side air bag sensor terminal B
- SAS control module terminal 3AB-driver-side crash zone sensor terminal A
- SAS control module terminal 3X-driver-side crash zone sensor terminal B
- Short circuit to power supply in the wiring harness between the following terminals:
- SAS control module terminal 1J-passenger-side side air bag sensor terminal A
- SAS control module terminal 1L-passenger-side side air bag sensor terminal B
- SAS control module terminal 3AB-driver-side crash zone sensor terminal A
- SAS control module terminal 3X-driver-side crash zone sensor terminal B
- Passenger-side side air bag sensor malfunction
- SAS control module malfunction
