- Blind spot monitoring (BSM) OFF indicator light does not illuminate when the ignition is switched to ON.
- The blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module does not communicate with the M-MDS.

| Possible Causes |
NOTE:
- The system may not operate normally under the following conditions:
- The rear bumper near the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module has become deformed.
- Snow, ice or mud adheres to the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module on the rear bumper
- Under bad weather conditions such as rain, snow and fog.
- Stationary objects on a road or a road side such as small, two-wheeled vehicles, bicycles, pedestrians, animals, and shopping carts.
- Vehicle shapes which do not reflect radar waves well such as empty trailers with a low vehicle height and sports cars.
- Turn off the system while pulling a trailer or while an accessory such as a bicycle carrier is installed to the rear of the vehicle. Otherwise, the radio waves emitted by the radar will be blocked causing the system to not operate normally.
- Blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (RH) does not initiate
- Open or short circuit in blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (RH) power supply circuit (open or short to ground circuit in wiring harness between push button start and blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (RH) terminal B)
- Open circuit in blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (RH) ground circuit (open circuit in wiring harness between blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (RH) and ground, poor contact at ground point)
- Blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (RH) malfunction
- Instrument cluster does not illuminate blind spot monitoring (BSM) OFF indicator light
- Instrument cluster malfunction
