Lateral runout inspection

Remove the rear brake caliper component and suspend it out of the way using a cable. (See REAR BRAKE DISC REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)

Set the dial gauge on the inner side 10 mm {0.39 in} from the outer edge using a magnetic base and dial gauge.

Rotate the disc plate one time and measure the runout.
