Lateral runout inspection

  1. Remove the rear brake caliper component and suspend it out of the way using a cable. (See REAR BRAKE DISC REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)

  2. Set the dial gauge on the inner side 10 mm {0.39 in} from the outer edge using a magnetic base and dial gauge.

  3. Rotate the disc plate one time and measure the runout.

    Rear disc plate runout limit 

    0.1 mm {0.004 in}
