Diagnostic Procedure

BRIGHTNESS OF BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) WARNING LIGHT IS TOO BRIGHT OR TOO DARK [BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) SYSTEM] DIAGNOSTICE PROCEDURE

Step Inspection Action
1 VERIFY MALFUNCTION (TNS SIGNAL CONDITION) Yes Go to Step 3.
No Go to the next step.
2 INSPECT LIGHT SWITCH Yes Perform the DTC inspection for the start stop unit, instrument cluster and the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module.

(See DTC INSPECTION [BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) CONTROL MODULE] .)
No Replace the light switch.
(See LIGHT SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
3 VERIFY MALFUNCTION (BRIGHTNESS CONDITION)
NOTE:
  • If the blind spot monitoring (BSM) indicator light was turned on by the simulation function, the blind spot monitoring (BSM) indicator light luminosity becomes 92%.
  • Does the PID value indicate 92% when the simulation item is turned on?
Yes
NOTE:
  • If the blind spot monitoring (BSM) system is operating normally, the luminosity of the blind spot monitoring (BSM) indicator light will change according to the light switch condition.
    • Light switch in TNS position: 70%
      • Light switch in position except TNS: 92%

    Explain to the customer that the system is normal.

No Replace the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (LH).
