Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) Control Module Removal/Installation

CAUTION:
  • Configuration cannot be implemented correctly if only the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (RH) is replaced. When replacing the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (RH), it is necessary to replace the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (LH) at the same time.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .)
  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. Rear combination light (See REAR COMBINATION LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Rear splash shield (See SPLASH SHIELD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Rear bumper (See REAR BUMPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Disconnect the connector.

  4. Remove the nuts.
  5. Remove the BSM control module.
  6. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  7. Perform the BSM radar test. (See BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) RADAR TEST .)
CAUTION:
  • If the BSM control module is replaced, not performing the BSM radar test will cause a deviation in the radar emission angle which could result in the system not detecting a vehicle approaching from the rear correctly. If the BSM control module is replaced, perform the BSM radar test.
