Diagnostic Procedure

Step	Inspection		Action
1	VERIFY ALL SYSTEM DTCs Switch the ignition off. Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 10 s or more. Perform a CMDTC self-test using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE] .) Are any DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE] .)
1		No	Go to the next step.
2	DETERMINE IF CAUSE OF MALFUNCTION IS ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE CONTROL MODULE OR INSTRUMENT CLUSTER Verify that all the indicator lights and warning lights in the instrument cluster turn on/off using the simulation function WL + IL in the M-MDS instrument cluster. (See ACTIVE COMMAND MODES INSPECTION [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER] .) Does the electric parking brake warning light turn on/off?	Yes	Replace the electric parking brake control module. (See ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL .) (See ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE CONTROL MODULE INSTALLATION .)
2		No	Replace the instrument cluster. (See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
