NO. 6 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER BACK-UP LIGHT DOES NOT DIM WHEN TAILLIGHTS ILLUMINATE (INSTRUMENT CLUSTER) DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	Turn the light switch to the ON position. Does the instrument cluster back-up light dim according to the illumination setting?	Yes	Troubleshooting completed. (The system is normal.)
1		No	Go to the next step.
2	Turn the light switch to the ON position. Do the taillights illuminate?	Yes	Go to the next step.
2		No	Inspect and repair parts and the wiring harness which are related to the following light switch. Light switch Taillight Vehicle wiring harness between BCM and taillight Vehicle wiring harness between light switch and BCM
3	Retrieve DTCs from the instrument cluster and BCM using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION .) (See DTC INSPECTION [BCM] .) Is the DTC detected?	Yes	Go to the applicable DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE .) (See DTC TABLE [BCM] .)
3		No	Replace the instrument cluster. (See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
