DTC P1738:00 (FW6A-EL) - DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	INSPECT ATF LEVEL Inspect the ATF level. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (ATF) INSPECTION .) Is there any malfunction?	Yes	Go to Step 4.
1		No	Adjust the ATF level to the specification, then go to the next step. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (ATF) ADJUSTMENT .)
2	PERFORM ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST TO SPECIFY MALFUNCTIONING PART NOTE: If only DTCs in which the malfunctioning part is not confirmed are displayed as in the following DTCs, all of the diagnosis may not have been completed. In such cases, the malfunction cause can be determined by performing the on-board diagnostic test. Perform the on-board diagnostic test. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODE .) Are any DTCs present?	Yes	DTC P1738:00 is displayed: Replace the automatic transaxle. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .) DTC other than P1738:00 is displayed: Go to the applicable DTC inspection. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM DTC TABLE .)
2		No	Go to the next step.
3	DRIVE VEHICLE AND VERIFY DTCs Stop the engine. Drive the vehicle for 5 min or more after the engine restarts. Perform the DTC inspection using the M-MDS. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM DTC INSPECTION .) Are any DTCs present?	Yes	DTC P1738:00 is displayed: Replace the automatic transaxle. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .) DTC other than P1738:00 is displayed: Go to the applicable DTC inspection. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM DTC TABLE .)
3		No	No DTCs are displayed: DTC troubleshooting completed.
4	PERFORM ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST Perform the on-board diagnostic test. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODE .) Are any DTCs present?	Yes	DTC P1738:00 is displayed: Replace the automatic transaxle. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .) DTC other than P1738:00 is displayed: Go to the applicable DTC inspection. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM DTC TABLE .)
4		No	Go to the next step.
5	DRIVE VEHICLE AND VERIFY DTCs Stop the engine. Drive the vehicle for 5 min or more after the engine restarts. Perform the DTC inspection using the M-MDS. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM DTC INSPECTION .) Are any DTCs present?	Yes	DTC P1738:00 is displayed: Replace the automatic transaxle. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .) DTC other than P1738:00 is displayed: Go to the applicable DTC inspection. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM DTC TABLE .)
5		No	Replace the control valve body. (See CONTROL VALVE BODY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
