DTC U0100/U0140/U0155: Notes

DTC U0100 Communication error to PCM
U0140 Communication error to BCM
U0155 Communication error to instrument cluster
FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION 
  • U0100
    • Vehicle speed signal malfunction
      • Motor is stopped: Maintained at condition when stopped. After the motor is restarted, vehicle speed is set at 200 km/h {124 mph}, and control continues.
      • Motor is rotating: Controlled vehicle speed is increased to 20 km/h {12 mph} per s until it is set at 200 km/h {124 mph}, and control continues.
    • Engine speed signal malfunction
      • Motor is stopped: Maintained at condition when stopped. After the motor is restarted, engine speed is set at 1,000 rpm, and control continues.
      • Motor is rotating: Controlled engine speed is set at 1,000 rpm, and control continues.
  • U0140
    • Controlled steering speed is decreased to 100 degree per s until it is set at 0 degree, and control continues.
  • U0155
    • Control enabled
  • Power steering malfunction indicator light: Illuminated
DETECTION CONDITION 
  • U0100
    • Communication error to PCM is detected in CAN communication
  • U0140
    • Communication error to BCM is detected in CAN communication
  • U0155
    • Communication error to instrument cluster is detected in CAN communication
POSSIBLE CAUSE 
  • CAN system wiring harness open or short circuit with PCM
  • CAN system wiring harness open or short circuit with BCM
  • CAN system wiring harness open or short circuit with instrument cluster
  • Poor connection at connectors
