Drive Belt

CAUTION: The belt tensioner has no provision for adjustment and will be damaged if forced to travel beyond its operating range. Automatic tensioners are calibrated at the factory to provide the correct amount of tension to the belt. There is no need to check tensioners for proper tension.

Automatic tensioners are calibrated to provide correct amount of tension to belt for an accessory drive system. Unless a spring within tensioner assembly breaks, or some other mechanical part of tensioner fails, there is no need to check tensioner for correct tension. Verify that the drive belt auto tensioner indicator mark does not exceed the limit. See Fig 1, Fig 2 or Fig 3 . If it exceeds the limit, replace the drive belt.
