Axle Shaft: Inspection

Inspect the dust boot on the axle shaft for cracks, damage, leaking grease, and looseness in the boot band. See Fig 1 .
Inspect the axle shaft for bends, cracks, and wear in the joint or splines.
Repair or replace the axle shaft or boot/band if necessary.
