By-Pass Air Solenoid Valve

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1997 Mazda Millenia. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Solenoid valve is located in right rear of engine compartment. To identify solenoid valve, see appropriate illustration in VACUUM DIAGRAMS - 2.3L article. Disconnect vacuum hoses and connector from solenoid valve.
  2. Apply air pressure to a solenoid valve port. Air should not flow from other port on valve. Using jumper wires, apply battery voltage to solenoid valve terminals. Air should now flow through valve. Replace solenoid valve as necessary.
