Removal & Installation (Mazda6 2.3L)

CAUTION: The high-tension leads must be reinstalled to their original positions. Incorrect installation can damage the leads and cause power loss, and negatively affect the electronic components.
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the plug hole plate. Lift off and remove the plug hole plate from the installation areas (rubber and clips) as shown in the illustration. See Figure.
  3. Remove the high-tension lead.
  4. Disconnect Oil Control Valve (OCV) harness connector.
  5. Remove the ventilation hose.
  6. Remove the cylinder head cover.
  7. Remove bolt and OCV. See Fig 1.
