Removal & Installation (Tribute 3.0L)

WARNING: DO NOT smoke or carry an open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel-related components. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
CAUTION: Throttle body bore and plate area have a special coating and should not be cleaned.
  1. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube. See AIR CLEANER OUTLET PIPE .
  2. Remove the nuts and the engine appearance cover. See Fig 1.
  3. Disconnect the accelerator cable and the cruise control cable (if equipped) from the throttle body lever. See Fig 2.
  4. Disconnect the Throttle Position (TP) sensor harness connector. See Fig 3.
  5. Remove bolt, stud bolt and throttle body. See Fig 4.
  6. To install, reverse removal procedure. Install a NEW gasket. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
