Idle Speed: Mazda6

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2003 Mazda Tribute, 2003 Mazda Protege5, 2003 Mazda Protege, 2003 Mazda MX-5 Miata, and 2003 Mazda MPV. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Idle speed is controlled by PCM and is not adjustable. Ensure Electronic Throttle Control System (Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) sensor and throttle actuator), A/C switch, Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor and Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor are functioning properly. See appropriate diagnostic procedure in SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING - MAZDA6, MIATA, MPV, PROTEGE & PROTEGE5 article. If these are okay, check PCM for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). See appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article. If no DTCs are present, go to TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article.
