On-Vehicle Inspection

  1. Remove the engine cover.

    (See ENGINE COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)

  2. Remove the battery cover.
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4. Remove the catalytic converter.

    (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)

  5. Remove the insulator.

  6. Disconnect the solenoid valve connector.

  7. Measure resistance between the terminals C and D.
    • If there is any malfunction, perform the off-vehicle inspection for TFT sensor. (See OFF-VEHICLE INSPECTION .)
    ATF TEMPERATURE (°C {°F}) AND RESISTANCE (KILOHM) SPECIFICATION

  8. Connect the solenoid valve connector.
  9. Install the insulator.

    Tightening torque 

    1. 8-11 N.m {82-112 kgf.cm, 72-97 in.lbf}

  10. Install the catalytic converter.

    (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)

  11. Connect the negative battery cable.
  12. Install the battery cover.
  13. Install the engine cover.
