Valve Body: Removal

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect positive battery cable and remove battery from vehicle. Remove the battery tray and battery tray bracket. See Figure . Remove the air cleaner assembly. See Figure .
  2. Raise and support vehicle. Drain transmission fluid from transaxle. See DRAINING & REFILLING  under LUBRICATION. Remove the oil cooler hoses and oil cooler pipes. See OIL COOLER HOSES & PIPES  .
  3. Remove the heater pipe, hoses and bracket. Drain coolant from vehicle. See COOLING SYSTEM BLEEDING in 2.5L V6 article in ENGINES. Remove the side cover. See Fig 1 . Disconnect the solenoid valve harness connectors, then remove harness clips. Remove the valve body. See Fig 2 .
