Oil Cooler Hoses & Pipes: Removal

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Drain the engine coolant into a container. See BLEEDING COOLING SYSTEM in 2.5L V6 article in ENGINES. Drain the ATF into a container. See DRAINING & REFILLING  under LUBRICATION. Remove the battery, battery tray, and battery tray bracket. See Fig 1 .
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. See Fig 2 . Remove the radiator grille. Remove the front bumper. See FRONT BUMPER  . Remove the splash shield. Remove the inner fender mud guard.
  3. Remove oil cooler hose clamps (1). Remove oil cooler hoses (2). Remove oil cooler pipes (3). Remove radiator (4). Remove oil cooler (5). See Fig 3 and Fig 4 .
