Diagnostic procedure

DTC P0761 - DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	VERIFY FREEZE FRAME DATA HAS BEEN RECORDED Has FREEZE FRAME DATA been recorded?	Yes	Go to the next step.
1		No	Record the FREEZE FRAME DATA on the repair order, then go to the next step.
2	VERIFY RELATED REPAIR INFORMATION AVAILABILITY Check for related Service Bulletins and/or on-line repair information availability. Is any related repair information available?	Yes	Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available repair information. If vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
2		No	Go to the next step.
3	CHECK FOR DTC Turn ignition switch to ON (engine OFF). Inspect DTC. Is DTC output?	Yes	Follow applicable DTC inspection procedure.
3		No	Go to the next step.
4	CHECK ATF CONDITION Turn ignition switch to OFF. Check ATF condition. Transparent red: Normal Milky: Water mixed in fluid Reddish brown: Deteriorated ATF Is it okay? (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (ATF) INSPECTION )	Yes	Replace the control valve body, then go to the next step.
4		No	If ATF color milky or reddish brown, repair or replace the ATX, then go to the next step.
5	VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTC P0761 COMPLETED. Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors. Clear DTC from memory using WDS or equivalent. Start engine. Warm up ATX. Drive vehicle in D range and make sure that gears shift smoothly from 1GR to 5GR. Is same DTC present?	Yes	Replace the TCM, then go to the next step. (See TCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
5		No	Go to the next step.
6	VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE Perform "After Repair Procedure". (See AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE .) Is there any DTC present?	Yes	Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
6		No	Troubleshooting completed.
