Oil Pump: Inspection

  1. Check oil pump for broken or worn seal ring or weak springs. Check for damaged or worn sliding surfaces. Replace as required.
  2. Measure clearance between end of oil pump housing and each rotor at 4 places along circumference. See Fig 1. Measure clearance between inner and outer rotor. See Fig 2. If clearances are not within specifications, replace oil pump. See OIL PUMP SPECIFICATIONS  table.
