Forward Clutch: Disassembly

  1. Remove forward clutch hub, snap ring, retainer plate, and drive and driven plates from forward clutch drum. See Fig 1.
  2. Compress seal plate only enough to remove snap ring. Remove snap ring. Remove seal plate and spring retainer assembly. Set forward clutch drum and turbine shaft onto oil pump. Using air pressure through fluid passage, remove clutch piston from forward clutch drum. Maximum air pressure is 57 psi (4.0 kg/cm2 ). See Fig 2. Remove forward clutch drum and turbine shaft.
