WARNING:
B Series Pickups are equipped with a passenger-side air bag ON/OFF switch. This switch should NOT be used in place of specified vehicle air bag system disabling and activating procedures.
- Turn ignition on, with engine off (OFF to RUN). AIR BAG indicator light in instrument cluster should come on for 6 seconds and then turn off. The passenger air bag deactivation switch will also light for about 6 seconds, and then turn off.
- If a fault is detected in the air bag system during the system operation check, AIR BAG indicator light will either fail to light, stay on continuously, or flash. Flashing may not begin for up to 30 seconds after initial bulb check (ignition turned from OFF to RUN).
- If an air bag system fault exists, and AIR BAG indicator light fails to light, an audible tone will be heard, indicating AIR BAG indicator light is out and service is required. The tone is a chime which sounds 5 sets of 5 beeps.
