Air Conditioning Line (Peanut) Fitting: Disconnect

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to DISCHARGING AND RECOVERY  .

    CAUTION:
    • Support the female fitting with a wrench to prevent the tubes from twisting.
  2. Remove the nut from the air conditioning line (peanut) fitting.

  3. Pull the air conditioning line (peanut) fitting apart.

    CAUTION:
    • Do not use metal tools to remove the O-ring seal. They can cause axial scratches across the O-ring seal groove resulting in refrigerant leaks.
  4. Remove the O-ring seal with a non-metallic tool.
