Secondary Coil Winding

  1. Remove the ignition coil. (See IGNITION COIL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  2. Measure the resistance between the following using an ohmmeter.
    • L3 (with DEI system): Lead hole 1 to 4, 2 to 3
    • L3 (with SEI system): Terminal A to coil boot socket
    • AJ: Terminal A to coil boot socket
      • If not within the specification, replace the ignition coil.

    Specification 

    L3 (with DEI system): 9.5-11.1 kilohms [20 °C {68 °F}] 

    L3 (with SEI system): 5.0-6.0 kilohms [25 °C {77 °F}] 

    AJ: 5.0-6.0 kilohms [25 °C {77 °F}]
