Primary Coil Winding

  1. Disconnect the ignition coil connector. (See IGNITION COIL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  2. Measure the resistance between the following terminals using an ohmmeter:
    • L3 (with DEI system): A and B, B and C
    • L3 (with SEI system): A and B
    • AJ: A and B
      • If not within the specification, replace the ignition coil.

    Specification 

    L3 (with DEI system): 0.49-0.57 ohms [20 °C {68 °F}] 

    L3 (with SEI system): 0.45-0.65 ohms [25 °C {77 °F}] 

    AJ: 0.45-1.15 ohms [25 °C {77 °F}]
