Removal and Installation

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
  2. Raise the vehicle.

  3. Disconnect the block heater power cable from the block heater.

    CAUTION:
    • Do not loosen the block heater retaining screw more than necessary for removal.
  4. Remove the block heater.
    CAUTION:
    • Make sure the power cable is routed and secured away from rotating or hot components or damage to the cable may occur.
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
