Without Fuel Pressure Gauge (Tribute 2.0L)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Mazda Tribute, 2002 Mazda B4000, 2002 Mazda B3000, and 2002 Mazda B2300. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Tribute 2.0L does not have a pressure relief valve (Schrader valve) located on fuel injection manifold rail. To release fuel pressure, disconnect fuel pump relay. Fuel pump relay is located in underhood fuse/relay box. Remove fuel cap to release fuel tank pressure. Start engine allow to stall, crank engine over 2 more times to release system pressure.
