Canister Vent Solenoid

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Mazda Tribute, 2002 Mazda B4000, 2002 Mazda B3000, and 2002 Mazda B2300. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Turn ignition switch off. Disconnect Canister Vent (CV) solenoid wiring harness connector. Measure resistance between CV solenoid terminals. If resistance is not 48-65 ohms, replace CV solenoid and repeat QUICK TEST. If resistance is 48-65 ohms, solenoid is okay. If fault is still present, see appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article.
