Ignition Coil Resistance (MPV)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 10 other vehicles, including the 2002 Mazda Tribute, 2002 Mazda Protege5, 2002 Mazda Protege, 2002 Mazda Millenia, and 2002 Mazda MX-5 Miata. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disconnect ignition coil connector. Using ohmmeter, measure primary resistance between ignition coil terminals "A" and "B". See Fig 1 . Resistance should be as specified. See IGNITION COIL RESISTANCE  table. If resistance is not as specified, replace coil.
  2. Using an ohmmeter, measure secondary resistance between ignition coil terminal "A" and coil tower. See IGNITION COIL RESISTANCE  table. If resistance is not as specified, replace coil.
