Lower Intake Manifold: Installation

- Install the gaskets in the lower intake manifold.
- Lubricate the O-ring seals lightly with SAE 5W-20 Motor Oil and install the fuel injectors into the lower intake manifold.
- Install the fuel rail.
- Position the fuel rail (1).
- Install the four bolts (2).
- Install the lower intake manifold assembly and tighten the bolts in the sequence shown.
- Connect the fuel rail.
- Connect the six fuel injectors (1).
- Connect the fuel pressure damper vacuum line (2).
- Install the upper intake manifold. Refer to the following:
- For 2001 models, see UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD .
- For 2002 models, see UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD .
- For 2003 models, see UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD .
- Connect the fuel line spring lock coupling. Refer to the following:
- For 2001 models, see FUEL LINE CONNECTORS (B2300, B2500, B3000, B4B4000, MPV & TRIBUTE) .
- For 2002 models, see FUEL LINE CONNECTORS (B2300, B3000, B4000, MPV & TRIBUTE) .
- For 2003 models, see FUEL LINE CONNECTORS (B2300, B3000, B4000 & TRIBUTE) .
CAUTION:
Never use silicone grease. It will clog the fuel injectors.
NOTE:
Inspect the fuel injector O-ring seals and install O-ring seals if necessary.
