Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC): Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Mazda Tribute and 2002 Mazda Tribute. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) plays a major role in the emission control system. The TWC operates as a gas reactor. Its catalytic Three Way Catalytic Converter unction is to speed the heat-producing chemical reaction of components in the exhaust gases in order to reduce air pollutants.

The catalyst material inside the TWC consists of a ceramic substrate.
