Engine Front Cover: Removal

Remove the RH and LH valve covers. Refer to VALVE COVER - LH and VALVE COVER - RH .
Remove the oil pan. Refer to OIL PAN .
Remove the generator. Refer to the following:
- For 2001 models, see GENERATOR .
- For 2002 models, see GENERATOR .
- For 2003 models, see GENERATOR .
Remove the bolt and the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor.

Lower the vehicle.
Remove the power steering pump. Refer to the following:
- For 2001 models, see POWER STEERING PUMP .
- For 2002 models, see POWER STEERING PUMP .
- For 2003 models, see ENGINE SPEED SENSING POWER STEERING .
Install the front engine support insulator. Refer to ENGINE SUPPORT INSULATORS - FRONT, RH .
Remove the special tool.

Raise the vehicle.
Remove the bolt and remove the belt tensioner.

Remove the crankshaft pulley. Refer to CRANKSHAFT PULLEY .
Remove the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the bolt and the sensor.

NOTE: Remove the engine front cover with the vehicle raised in the air.

Remove the bolts, studs and the engine front cover.
