Crankshaft Pulley: Installation

NOTE: Seal surfaces must be free of dirt and oil.
  1. Apply silicone gasket and sealant to the end of the keyway slot.

  2. NOTE: Lubricate the outside diameter sealing surface of the crankshaft pulley with SAE 5W-20 Motor Oil.

  3. Using the special tool, install the crankshaft pulley.
  4. Install the bolt and the washer and tighten in four stages.
    • Stage 1: Tighten to 120 N.m (12.2 kgf.m , 86 ft.lbf).
    • Stage 2: Loosen 360 degrees.
    • Stage 3: Tighten to 50 N.m (5.1 kgf.m, 37 ft.lbf).
    • Stage 4: Tighten an additional 90 degrees.

  5. Install the splash shield.

  6. Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to ACCESSORY DRIVE BELT .
