Camshaft Oil Clearance Inspection

- Position plastigage atop the journals in the axial direction.
- Install the camshaft cap. (See TIMING CHAIN (LH) ASSEMBLY NOTE .) (See TIMING CHAIN (RH) ASSEMBLY NOTE .)
- Remove the camshaft cap. (See CAMSHAFT (RH) DISASSEMBLY NOTE .) (See CAMSHAFT (LH) DISASSEMBLY NOTE .)
- Measure the oil clearance.
- If the oil clearance exceeds the maximum clearance, replace the cylinder head.

- 0.025-0.076 mm {0.0010-0.0029 in}
Maximum Clearance
- 0.121 mm {0.00476 in}
