Miata, Millenia, Protege & 626

VSS is located on side of transaxle (transmission on Miata). Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect VSS connector. Rotate front wheels (rear wheels on Miata) and using analog voltmeter, measure voltage between sensor terminals. See Fig 1 . If voltmeter needle does not fluctuate, replace sensor.
