DTC U0422:00/U0428:62/U0428:64 [Dynamic Stability Control (DSC)]: Notes

DTC U0422:00, U0428:62, U0428:64 Abnormal message from BCM
DETECTION CONDITION  U0422:00 (data error in the signal which BCM sends to the DSC HU/CM)
  • Error in steering angle signal which BCM sends to CAN occurs for 500 ms or more

U0428:62 (steering wheel angle neutral position detection error)

  • malfunction on DSC HU/CM or BCM side
  • Any of the following conditions is detected
    • After switch the ignition to ON, DSC HU/CM cannot confirm steering wheel angle neutral position even if 30 s  have elapsed at vehicle speed of 12.6 km/h or more  , or 3 s  have elapsed at vehicle speed of 50 km/h or more
    • After switch the ignition to ON, steering angle signal reset signal which BCM sends is detected

U0428:64 (steering angle signal comparison malfunction)

  • BCM does not detect malfunction, however, DSC HU/CM determines there is an error in signal sent from BCM
  • When comparing with estimated steering angle calculated from DSC HU/CM and steering angle signal which BCM sends to CAN, DSC HU/CM determines that the difference exceeds specification (Value which detects malfunction differs depending on driving conditions)
FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION
  • Illuminates the TCS/DSC indicator light.
  • Inhibits the TCS (engine control) and DSC controls.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
  • BCM malfunction
  • DSC HU/CM malfunction
  • Steering angle sensor signal error
