Front Seat Side Cover Removal/Installation: Driver-side

  1. Switch the ignition OFF (LOCK).
  2. Remove the battery cover. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.5] .)
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait 1 min or more  .
  4. Remove the front seat. (See FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  5. Detach the tab and the hook, remove the front seat side cover No.2.

  6. Insert a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver into notch indicated in the figure, and remove the lift lever outer cover while pushing in the direction of arrow (1).

  7. Detach the tab A and the hook B while pulling the lift lever outer cover in the order of (2), (3) and remove it.

  8. Remove the snap ring.

  9. Operate the lift lever in the direction of arrow (4) shown in the figure.

  10. Using a flathead screwdriver, hold the spring.
  11. Return the lift lever a bit to pull it up in the order of (5), (6) shown in the figure.
  12. After operating the recliner lever in the upward direction (7), cut the area indicated in the figure, then remove the recliner lever in the direction of arrow (8).

    CAUTION:
    • The seat back folds forward when the recliner lever is operated. Be careful when operating the recliner lever.
  13. Remove the screw.

  14. Push the front seat side cover to the rear, remove the hook shown in the figure.

  15. Detach the pin and the hook while pulling rear part of the front seat side cover toward.

  16. Detach the tab and the hook while pulling in the direction of arrow (9), (10) shown in the figure.

  17. Remove the screw.

  18. Remove the cover.

  19. Detach the hook while pulling in the direction of arrow.

  20. Detach the pin and the hook while pulling rear part of the front seat side cover toward.

  21. Detach the tab and the hook while pulling in the direction of arrow (11), (12) shown in the figure.

  22. Install in the reverse order of removal.
