Diagnostic Procedure

STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	VERIFY BCM DTCs Clear the DTC using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [BCM] .) Switch the ignition to ON and wait for 5 s or more . Perform the BCM DTC inspection using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [BCM] .) Is the same DTC present?	Yes	Go to the next step.
1		No	Go to Step 6.
2	VERIFY PCM DTCs Perform the PCM DTC inspection using the M-MDS. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [MZR 2.5] .) Are any DTCs present?	Yes	Go to the applicable DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE [MZR 2.5] .)
2		No	Go to the next step.
3	INSPECT BATTERY Inspect the battery. (See BATTERY INSPECTION [MZR 2.5] .) Is there any malfunction?	Yes	Replace the battery, then go to Step 5. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.5] .)
3		No	Go to the next step.
4	INSPECT GENERATOR Inspect the generator. (See GENERATOR INSPECTION [MZR 2.5] .) Is there any malfunction?	Yes	Replace the generator, then go to the next step. (See GENERATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.5] .)
4		No	Go to the next step.
5	VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED Clear the DTC using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [BCM] .) Switch the ignition to ON and wait for 5 s or more . Perform the BCM DTC inspection using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [BCM] .) Is the same DTC present?	Yes	Repeat the inspection from Step 1. If the malfunction recurs, replace the BCM. (See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .) Go to the next step.
5		No	Go to the next step.
6	VERIFY THAT NO OTHER DTCs ARE PRESENT Are any DTCs present?	Yes	Go to the applicable DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE [BCM] .)
6		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
