DTC C0051:04 [BCM]: Notes

DTC C0051:04 Steering angle sensor malfunction
DETECTION CONDITION 
  • BCM detects that the Z phase is abnormal.
  • BCM detects that the steering angle exceed the specified value.
FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION 
  • Sends the steering angle 0° data to the DSC HU/CM.
POSSIBLE CAUSE 
  • Steering wheel is off-center.
  • Improper installation or positioning of steering angle sensor
  • Steering angle sensor malfunction
  • BCM malfunction
