DTC P1260:00: Notes

DTC P1260:00 Theft detected, vehicle immobilized
DETECTION CONDITION 
  • This DTC can be set if the passive anti-theft system (immobilizer system) has determined a theft condition existed and the engine is disabled or an engine start was attempted using a non-PATS key. This DTC is a good indicator to check the PATS for DTCs. This DTC can also be set when a new instrument cluster (IC), keyless control module or powertrain control module (PCM) is installed without correctly programming either module even if the vehicle is not equipped with PATS.
POSSIBLE CAUSE 
  • Incorrectly programmed PCM
  • Incorrectly programmed instrument cluster(1)/keyless control module(2)
  • Previous theft condition
  • Anti-theft system concern
  • PCM malfunction
(1) Vehicles without advanced keyless entry and push button start system 
(2) Vehicles with advanced keyless entry and push button start system
