With Fan Control Module Relay

DETECTION CONDITION & POSSIBLE CAUSES

DTC P0480:00	Cooling fan control circuit problem
DETECTION CONDITION	The PCM monitors the input voltages from the cooling fan motor. If the voltage at the PCM terminal 1R remains low or high, the PCM determines that the cooling fan control circuit has malfunction Diagnostic support note This is a continuous monitor (other). The MIL does not illuminate. FREEZE FRAME DATA is not available. The DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
POSSIBLE CAUSE	Short to ground or open circuit in fan control module relay power supply circuit Short to ground in wiring harness between battery positive terminal and fan control module relay (battery side) MAIN 125 A fuse or FAN 60 A fuse malfunction Open circuit in wiring harness between battery positive terminal and fan control module relay (battery side) Open or short circuit in wiring harness between BCM and fan control relay terminal (BCM side) BCM malfunction Fan control module relay malfunction Cooling fan motor No. 1 connector or terminal malfunction Short to ground in wiring harness between cooling fan motor No. 1 terminal D and fan control module relay Short to power supply in wiring harness between cooling fan motor No. 1 terminal D and fan control module relay Open circuit in wiring harness between cooling fan motor No. 1 terminal A and body ground Poor contact or loose installation of body ground point. PCM connector or terminal malfunction Short to ground in wiring harness between cooling fan motor No. 1 terminal C and PCM terminal 1R Short to power supply in wiring harness between cooling fan motor No. 1 terminal C and PCM terminal 1R Open circuit in wiring harness between cooling fan motor No 1 terminal C and PCM terminal 1R Cooling fan motor No. 1 malfunction PCM malfunction

- Short to ground in wiring harness between battery positive terminal and fan control module relay (battery side)

- Open circuit in wiring harness between battery positive terminal and fan control module relay (battery side)
Open or short circuit in wiring harness between BCM and fan control relay terminal (BCM side)
BCM malfunction
Fan control module relay malfunction
Cooling fan motor No. 1 connector or terminal malfunction
Short to ground in wiring harness between cooling fan motor No. 1 terminal D and fan control module relay
Short to power supply in wiring harness between cooling fan motor No. 1 terminal D and fan control module relay
Open circuit in wiring harness between cooling fan motor No. 1 terminal A and body ground
Poor contact or loose installation of body ground point.
PCM connector or terminal malfunction
Short to ground in wiring harness between cooling fan motor No. 1 terminal C and PCM terminal 1R
Short to power supply in wiring harness between cooling fan motor No. 1 terminal C and PCM terminal 1R
Open circuit in wiring harness between cooling fan motor No 1 terminal C and PCM terminal 1R
Cooling fan motor No. 1 malfunction
PCM malfunction
