Fuel Line Safety Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable
  2. Remove the fuel-filler cap to release the pressure inside the fuel tank
  3. Disconnect the fuel pump unit connector. See FUEL PUMP UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZI-3.7] .
  4. Connect the negative battery cable. See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZI-3.7] .
  5. Start the engine.
  6. After the engine stalls, crank the engine several times.
  7. Switch the ignition to off.
  8. Connect the fuel pump unit connector.
